Biographical Information[edit]

Rich Rowland's son, Richie Rowland, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 40th round of the 2007 amateur June draft. Passing on Colorado's offer, Richie played 2 years at Santa Rosa Junior College. He then attended Campbellsville University as a junior and was the starting catcher on the club where he played in all 52 games, one win away from attending the College World Series. Richie was then signed as a free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in June 2010. Assigned to the Missoula Osprey, he was leading the league in hitting as of early August, hovering around the .400 Mark for batting average. [1].

His other son (Robby Rowland), was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 3rd round (88th Overall), in the 2010 amateur draft.
