Biographical Information

Rich Rowland was a catcher who played six seasons in the majors with the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox from 1990 to 1995. Most of his stays in the majors were very brief, so he appeared in only 98 games during that six-year span, hitting .213. All 9 of his homers were hit in 1994, when he appeared in 46 games for the Red Sox.

His two sons, catcher Richie Rowland, and pitcher Robby Rowland, both played in the minors.
