Biographical Information[edit]
Reymundo Leytón was an outfielder for the Nicaraguan national team in several tournaments. His son Brandon Leytón followed him onto the team.
Leytón was 1 for 15 in the 1999 Pan American Games. In the 2001 Baseball World Cup, he was 3 for 11 with a walk, two runs and two RBI, splitting RF with Eduardo Romero and Jose Ramon Padilla. He helped Nicaragua to a Gold in the 2001 Central American Games. He hit .240 as a starter in the 2003 Pan American Games. During the 2003 Baseball World Cup, Reymundo produced at a .269/.406/.346 clip with five runs and three RBI in nine games while having 12 putouts and no errors as the starter in LF. He had the second-best OBP among Nicaragua's starters, trailing Justo Rivas by .011.
