Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Rey Quinones of the Boston Red Sox doubled twice in his first major league game on May 17, 1986. A few months later, on August 19th, he was included in a trade with the Seattle Mariners that brought Spike Owen and Dave Henderson to Boston. With the Mariners, he demonstrated great defensive potential but also showed inconsistency both on and off the field. In early 1989, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he only hit .209 and was released at the end of July.
