Biographical Information

Renzo Ishii coached at Waseda University from 1957-1963 and 1988-1994. He was active in setting up the regular US-Japan collegiate team contests and in the Japanese college baseball administration. He was named to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020, his fourth year being considered by the special committee. He was known for his spartan training methods.
