Biographical Information[edit]

Renie Martin, one of the most prominent major league pitchers out of the University of Richmond, pitched six seasons in the big leagues. His most notable year was probably 1980 when, mostly as a starter for the Kansas City Royals, he went 10-10 and appeared in three games in the 1980 World Series. In the Series he pitched in relief with an ERA of 2.79.

He was Delaware's Athlete of the Year in 1980

In 1990, Martin played for the Florida Tropics of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He was 1-2 with an ERA of 4.44 when the league folded.
