Biographical Information[edit]
Rentato Vega was Governor of Sinaloa State in Mexico from 1993-1998, representing the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He became president of the Mexican Pacific League in 2000 and held the role until his death; he helped organize the 2001 Caribbean Series, 2005 Caribbean Series and 2009 Caribbean Series. He was inducted into the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013.
