Biographical Information

Outfielder Reggie Sanders was signed by the Cincinnati Reds and scout Don Mitchell as the 7th Round pick of the 1987 amateur draft. In 1990, while playing for the Cedar Rapids Reds, he batted .285 with 17 home runs and 63 RBI, enough for him to be named Midwest League MVP and the league's top prospect by Baseball America. Sanders is one of only eight players in major league history to have compiled 300 or more stolen bases and home runs in his career, though he just barely achieved both statistical milestones. He became a 300-300 club member in 2006 as the fifth player to accomplish the feat, quickly joined four days later by Steve Finley.

He became eligible for election to the Hall of Fame in 2013 but did not receive any votes and was dropped from the ballot.
