Biographical Information[edit]

Reeve McKay pitched one game for the 1915 St. Louis Browns on October 2. He was 33 at the time, the oldest pitcher on a staff that averaged 25 years old. It was the year when rookie George Sisler broke in with the team, pitching in 15 games and also playing in the field.

McKay came to the majors after many years in the minors, often winning around 20 games in a season. He was sometimes called "Reeves".

"Three years ago the Texas league was filled with flingers who used to depend largely upon the spitball. In 1910 Reeves McKay, of Fort Worth, one of the most successful pitchers of that campaign, used the slant more than any other." - El Paso Herald, May 29, 1912
