Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Red Kelly player 14 games for the Chicago White Sox in 1910, hitting .156.
As of January 2020, the player pictured on his Baseball-Reference page was not him, however; it was Bernard Francis "Mike" Kelly, a longtime minor league player, coach and manager who also briefly coached in the majors. He would have been 14 years old when Red Kelly debuted.
The same man's picture is also used on the Baseball-Reference page for Mike Kelly of the 1926 Phillies.
So somehow, photos of a man who never played big-league baseball wound up accompanying the playing records of two (or are there more?) men who did.
He is also not to be confused with hockey Hall of Famer Red Kelly, who was born Leonard Patrick Kelly, but never played baseball.
