Biographical Information[edit]

Mississippi native Red Bullock was signed by the Philadelphia Athletics out of Millsaps College in 1936. The 24-year-old left-hander made his debut with the Athletics on May 19, 1936. Bullock appeared in twelve games, pitched 16 2/3 innings and had a 0-2 record in his only time in the big leagues.

Bullock made one more attempt at getting the professional hitters out with the Portsmouth Cubs of the class B Piedmont League in the 1937 season. He appeared in three games and went 1-1 while pitching 16 innings and called it a career.

After baseball, Bullock worked in education as a coach, principal and superintendent, retiring in 1977 as superintendent of the Moss Point, MS schools. Hamilton Joseph Bullock passed away on June 27, 1988 at the age of 76 in Pascagoula, MS.
