Biographical Information[edit]
Becky Hartley played softball in college. She played in the 2006 World Softball Championship and played professionally for the Valencia Antorcha softball club in Spain. She then switched her focus to baseball. She was picked to represent Canada in the 2010 Women's Baseball World Cup.
In the 2012 Women's Baseball World Cup, Hartley hit .320/.438/.640 with four doubles, two triples, a homer and 8 RBI in 9 games, with 13 putouts, one assist and no errors. She was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, a triple, RBI and four runs in the 17-13 Bronze Medal slugfest win over Australia. She finished among the Cup leaders in doubles (tied for 7th), triples (tied for first), runs (tied for 4th with Ayako Rokkaku, Ashley Stephenson and Bronwyn Gell) and 9th in slugging.
By the 2015 Pan American Games, she had earned a MD and was performing a residency in plastic surgery. She still found time to play for Canada, where "Doc" backed up Jenna Flannigan in RF and Kelsey Lalor in LF. She was 5 for 10 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. She got the start in right in the Gold Medal game and went 2 for 4 with a run but Canada lost 11-3; she tied Nicole Luchanski and Flannigan for the team hit lead in that game.
