Biographical Information[edit]

After serving in the Navy during World War II, pitcher Raymond Mazzucco played three years of minor league baseball. He had a 14-7, 3.72 record for the Miami Owls in 1947. He tied for 8th in the Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri League in wins. He went 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA for the 1948 Owls. In 1949, he pitched for the Richmond Tigers (2-6, 4.26) and Chanute Athletics (5-6, 3.51). Overall, he had gone 30-29 with a 3.76 ERA in 87 minor league pitching appearances. Following his baseball days, he was a firefighter in his hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He also competed in the Senior Olympics.
