Biographical Information[edit]
1928 was a busy year for Ray Foley. He finished up at Catholic University of America, which he had attended from 1925-28. He played in the minors at Independence, Joplin and Springfield. And he came to the majors for one game in July and another in September with the 1928 New York Giants.
The 1928 Giants were managed by John McGraw. Oddly, although Foley was mainly a pitcher in the minors, McGraw didn't use him as a pitcher or anywhere else in the field, preferring instead to send him up for two plate appearances.
