Ray Birmingham

Ray Birmingham was a college coach.

Birmingham coached Las Cruces Mayfield High School from 1981-1983. He was coach at the College of the Southwest in 1988-1989. From 1990-2007, he was head coach of New Mexico Junior College, as the program's first coach. He moved to the University of New Mexico in June 2007. Birmingham was 852-353-2 in his first 21 seasons as a college coach. He has developed over 100 professional players, including Brendan Donnelly and several other major leaguers. He had 406 wins in 14 seasons at New Mexico before retiring.

In 2004, Ray led a NJCAA All-Star team to China, where they won four of five games. China had a return engagement to face a NJCAA All-Star squad led by Birmingham in 2006.
