Biographical Information

Randy Vásquez made his major league debut with the New York Yankees in 2023, appearing in 11 games - 5 starts - with a record of 2-2, 2.87. The Yankees had signed him as an international amateur free agent on May 21, 2018. His debut game came almost exactly five years to the day after his signing, on May 26th, and it was as a starter against the San Diego Padres; he was on the losing end of a 5-1 loss that day, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits in 4 2/3 innings.

On December 6, 2023, he was one of five players sent to the San Diego Padres by the Yankees to acquire All-Star OF Juan Soto and Of Trent Grisham. Joining him were c Kyle Higashioka and fellow pitchers Jhony Brito, Michael King and Drew Thorpe.
