Biographical Information

Randy Pérez has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

He was signed by Boston Red Sox scouts Manny Nanita and Craig Shipley in July 2011. His signing bonus was $80,000, He was 5-3 with a save and a 3.97 ERA for the 2012 DSL Red Sox. In 2013, he did very well with the GCL Red Sox (3-2, 2.39 ERA, 1.02 WHIP). He was 8th in the Gulf Coast League in ERA, 2nd in opponent average (.184) and 5th in WHIP (between Joey Maher and Jose Alonso). He started 2014 well for the Lowell Spinners (2-2, 2.78) but his season was cut short due to injury. He was 0-2 with a save and a 1.62 ERA for the 2015 Spinners. He ended his US pro career 10-9 with a 1.26 WHIP, 2.98 ERA and 2 saves in 39 games (24 starts). He threw a fastball that peaked at 92 mph but had issues with his secondary pitches.

The lefty made the Dominican squad for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. He had a solid 2.35 ERA in three games but lost his only start, being outdueled by Colombian veteran Ronald Ramírez.
