Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Randy Berlin played in the minor leagues from 1988 to 1991, 1995 and 1997. He was taken in the 25th round of the 1988 amateur draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, a few picks after outfielder Reggie Williams.

Despite hitting .281 his second campaign, Berlin never found his stroke at the plate in affiliated ball. He spent 1992 in Italy's Serie A2, hitting .424/.465/.785 with 31 runs and 38 RBI in 34 games for San Marino.

However, upon joining the indy leagues in 1995, he hit .304/.375/.429 with 19 walks and only 16 strikeouts in 51 games for the Albany Diamond Dogs. His next try at indy ball, 1997, did not go as well -- he hit .265/.336/.423 for the Aberdeen Pheasants to wrap up his career.

Overall, he hit .255/.319/.359 in 333 games.
