Biographical Information[edit]

Ramon Acosta pitched in the Minnesota Twins system from 2006 to 2009. He is most notable for not allowing a single earned run in 54 2/3 innings for the DSL Twins in 2008, giving him a season ERA of 0.00; he allowed just 6 unearned runs, 26 hits and 9 walks (0.640 WHIP), while striking out 35 batters. He was 5-0 on the year. The year before, with the same club, he was 4-5 with a 2.48 ERA in 14 starts. Overall, he went 9-8 with a 2.57 ERA in 47 games (27 starts). In 175 innings, he allowed 146 hits and 57 walks (1.160 WHIP), while striking out 102 batters. He played only one season stateside, in 2009 with the rookie level Elizabethton Twins. He had a 5.04 ERA in 25 innings with them.
