Ramón Otamendi Rondón
Ramón Otamendi played for fourteen seasons as an infielder in Cuba. His career batting line was .247/.326/.408 with 132 home runs; his fielding percentage was .932. Otamendi led the 1974-1975 season with 7 hit-by-pitches for the Mineros. In 1976-1977, he struck out 31 times to tie Pedro Peñalver for the lead. He was hit by 7 pitches in 1977-1978 to tie three others for the most. He was with the Cuban national team in the 1983 Pan American Games, going 8 for 16 for the Gold Medal winners.
