Biographical Information[edit]
Ramon Caraballo played in the big leagues with the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals on two non-consecutive occasions (1993 and 1995). Exclusively a late game defensive replacement in Atlanta, he batted .202 in 99 at bats with St. Louis, slugging 2 home runs; both coming against members of the Chicago Cubs. He is the brother of Adelso Caraballo.
After his playing career ended, Caraballo began a long coaching career in the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles organizations. He may have started as the manager of the DSL Cubs in 2004, but this could not be verified. He was the hitting coach for the DSL Cubs in 2005-2007 and for the DSL Cubs 1 in 2008-2009.
Caraballo joined the Orioles organization in 2010 as a Dominican Field Supervisor, a role he may have reprised in 2011. In 2012 he returned to a coaching role as a hitting coach for the DSL Orioles and served in the same role with the 2013 DSL Orioles 1. In 2014-2015 Caraballo was a Field Supervisor, possibly working with both DSL Orioles teams. He may have been a hitting coach for the DSL Orioles 2 in 2016, though this could not be confirmed. Caraballo was a hitting coach for the DSL Orioles in 2017-2018 and the DSL Orioles 1 in 2019-2021.
