Biographical Information[edit]
Cathcher Ralph Carroll was a graduate of Tufts College's dental school, hence the nickname "Doc". He played 10 games for the Philadelphia A's in 1916 and the A's lost every one on their way to a 36-117 season. He never played again after he left in midseason to prepare for his dental exams; he later ran a dental practice in his hometown, Worcester, MA, for five decades.
