Biographical Information[edit]

Raimar Navarro has been a pitcher for the Perros de Holguín.

As a rookie in 2009-2010, the teenager struggled to a 3-9, 5.74 record. He tied for 7th in the Cuban Serie Nacional in defeats. He improved his ERA to 5.16 in 2010-2011 but was only 2-8, tying for 9th in the league in losses. In 2011-2012, he made strides, starting 7-6. Then, on March 13, he no-hit Camagüey for nine innings (though he did walk 8 and hit a batter). Frank Madan, though, battled him zero for zero and the game went into extra innings. After Holguín scored in the top of the 10th, manager Felicio García replaced Navarro with closer Pablo Fernández, who went 1-2-3. It was the third combined no-hitter in Cuban history, the first one since 1979. It also was the first extra inning no-hitter in the Serie Nacional.
