Pitcher Quency Hill was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 7th round of the 1972 amateur draft. He led the 1973 Carolina League with 203 IP and a .778 winning percentage (14-4).

On December 20, 1976, the Phillies traded Johnny Oates with a player to be named later to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Ted Sizemore. The Phillies sent Hill on January 4, 1977 to the Dodgers to complete the trade. Hill never pitched in the majors.
