Pull
The term pull has two common meanings in baseball. First, a player pulls the ball if he hits it toward left field if he is a right-handed batter and toward right field if he is a left-handed batter. Such a batter has gotten his bat around quickly, and with power, in order to hit the ball in such a fashion. A player who often does this is called a pull hitter.
Secondly, the term pull may be used in the sense of "pulling off" a feat. For instance, a player may be good at "pulling walks", which means that he works to draw walks. Or a couple players may "pull a double steal", which means that they have pulled off the feat.
