Portland Gulls

From BR Bullpen

After a 15-year hiatus, professional baseball returned to Portland, ME in 1946 with the Portland Gulls of the New England League. An unaffiliated team, the Gulls went 20-99-1, finishing a distant last, 59 1/2 games out of first place. They were outscored 1,046-490. One of the few bright spots was the hitting of catcher Tom Siok (.342/~.404/.521). The next year, they were renamed the Portland Pilots.
