1B/OF Popsickle Harris played briefly in the Negro Leagues. He hit .215 for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1931 but was 9 for 25 in a postseason series with the Homestead Grays. He split 1932 between Kansas City, the Cleveland Stars and Detroit Wolves. He was with the minor New Orleans Crescent Stars for 1933-1934, spending part of the latter year with the Monarchs. In 1936, he was with the Monarchs once more. He is listed as the starting first baseman for the West in the 1936 East-West Game, though similarly nicknamed Popeye Harris was Kansas City's starting 1B that year. Harris was 1 for 4 in the East-West Game.
