Biographical Information[edit]
Sidearm hurler Po-Cheng Chi had a brief professional career in the minor leagues.
Chi signed with the Cincinnati Reds in 2009 with a $100,000 bonus. He made his pro debut on June 23 for the AZL Reds against the AZL Brewers, allowing three runs, three walks and one hit in one inning. Chi had a 5.02 ERA in 12 games in 2010, and he missed the 2011 season due to right elbow injury. The Reds released him after the 2011 season, and his professional career ended. He later coached Pu-Men High School from 2019 to 2021, and he moved to Cheng-De High School in 2022.
Chi's repertoire included a slider, sinker, changeup and fastball (peak 90 mph).
