Biographical Information[edit]
Pirincho Salazar was a utility player who appeared for the Dominican national team when they won the Silver Medal in the 1942 Amateur World Series. In a 1948 exhibition against the Brooklyn Dodgers, he stole home on Joe Hatten and Roy Campanella. When the Dominican League formed in 1951, he hit .274/.357/.298 for the Estrellas Orientales. He fell to .208/.236/.271 for the 1952 Leones del Escogido, then was 3for 19 for them in 1953 and hit .235/.278/.235 for the 1954 Leones.
