Philippe Kleinjans was a long-time member of the Belgian national team.

As a teenager, he won Bronze with Belgium in the 1977 European Championship. In the 1978 Amateur World Series, their first Amateur World Series, he was 0 for 15 with 7 strikeouts. He had 9 putouts and no errors as their main right fielder. It was not the worst oh-fer on the team as Albert De Lannoy was 0 for 25. He also pitched briefly, allowing four runs (all earned) in two innings. He won three more Bronzes, in the 1979 European Championship, 1983 European Championship and 1985 European Championship.
