Biographical Information[edit]
Philip Brideoake played for South Australia in the Claxton Shield from 1937-1939 and 1946-1949 (there was no Shield tourney from 1940-1945 due to World War II) and then coached them in 1951. He was on the Australian national team from 1946-1949, when they did not play in any major international events. He was a four-time South Australian Baseball League MVP (1939, 1947, 1948 and 1955). He was picked for the South Australian 75th Anniversary Claxton Shield All-Star team and was named to the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame in 2016.
