Biographical Information[edit]
Phil Routcliffe played one game in the 1890 National League, getting a hit and stealing a base. He started in the minors at age 14, on a team that included quite a few former or future major leaguers.
In later life he was a police officer in Oswego, NY. He died in 1918 in the great flu epidemic. In the Oswego newspaper which carried news of his death, it was stated that 48 Oswego residents had died that week from the influenza.
