Biographical Information[edit]
Peter Summerville played college ball at Santa Clara University where he majored in finance. After college he owned and worked as the general manager of Diamond Star Sports in Van Nuys, CA for a couple of years. In April 2017 Summerville joined the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as a performance science coach with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. He moved up a level in 2018 while serving as a development coach for the Tulsa Drillers.
The San Diego Padres hired Summerville in 2019 for a bullpen catcher position. He remained in this role in 2020-2021 though the Padres added on the title of coaching assistant. Summerville took another step forward in his coaching career in 2022 when he was named to a Game Planning & Coaching Assistant dual role. He continued in this capacity through 2024.
