Peter Soteropoulos pitched 3 seasons in the minor leagues and two for the Greek national team.
Soteropoulos was picked by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 40th round of the 2003 amateur draft. The redbirds sent him that year to the New Jersey Cardinals (1-1, 4.37 in 15 G, .325 opponent average) and Johnson City Cardinals (0-1, 2 UER in 9 2/3 IP). He pitched for Greece in the 2003 European Championship, going 1-0 with no runs in 4 1/3 IP despite six baserunners. He fanned six.
For the 2004 Peoria Chiefs, Peter went 1-0 with a 3.52 ERA, fanning 32 and walking 6 in 30 2/3 IP. In the 2004 Olympics, he pitched 3 games for Greece, losing to Taiwan and allowing 2 runs in 2 2/3 IP in their lone victory, over Italy. He was 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA in the Olympics, one of the better hurlers on the host country's squad.
In 2005, Peter ended his career with the independent North Shore Spirit, going 0-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 26 outings.
