Biographical Information[edit]
Peter Elfving has been a catcher with the Sundbyberg Heat. In 2003, the first season for which statistics are available online, he hit .291/.398/.391 and had 12 passed balls in 28 games. Backing up Magnus Pilegård and Björn Johannesen at catcher, he played two games for Sweden in the 2003 European Championship but did not bat.
For the 2004 Heat, Peter batted .290/.393/.361. He hit .360/.483/.560 in 2005 and made Sweden's roster for the 2005 Baseball World Cup. He went 1 for 4 with a walk and a double in the event, backing up Johannesen at backstop. He was 0 for 2 with two walks in the 2005 European Championship. In the 2006 Elitserien, Elfwing was just 0 for 4 with a walk and 3 strikeouts.
Back in regular duty for 2007, Elfving slumped to .243/.367/.336; he did tie for 5th in the circuit with four triples. In 2008, Peter batted .391/.473/.505. He is on Sweden's preliminary 40-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup but did not make the final cut.
