Biographical Information[edit]

Pete Woodworth went undrafted after graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University but signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010. He played briefly for the GCL Rays that year, going 1-1, 2.42 in 17 appearances as a relief pitcher.

After his short professional career, he returned to his alma mater to work as a volunteer assistant coach then was hired as an area scout by the Rays in 2012. In 2014, he was pitching coach at Nova Southeastern University, then returned to Florida Gulf Coast as pitching coach in 2015-2016.

Woodworth took over as pitching coach of the Clinton LumberKings, in the Rays organization, in June of 2016. He was then pitching coach of the Modesto Nuts in 2017-2018 and Arkansas Travelers in 2019. In 2020, he was named pitching coach of the Seattle Mariners.
