Biographical Information[edit]

Pete Daglia pitched 12 games for the 1932 White Sox.

Daglia was born in Napa, CA, 50 miles north of San Francisco. In a 13-year minor league career, he pitched 8 seasons for Oakland, two for San Francisco and one for Mission (who played in San Francisco).

He won in double figures in eight of his 13 minor league seasons, with a high of 21 in 1926 for Twin Falls. He twice won 18 games in a season for Oakland.

By the time he came up with the 1932 White Sox he was already a veteran minor league pitcher, having pitched seven seasons in the minors. With the White Sox, he was the same age as teammate Luke Appling.

According to TheDeadballEra.Com he was a liquor salesman after his baseball days.

A letter to the editor of Baseball Digest in June 1999 stated that Daglia attended Sacramento High School. Stan Hack attended the same high school and made his major league debut in the same year as Daglia did, but Hack was a few years younger.

TheDeadballEra.Com says he died at age 45 of coronary thrombosis.
