Pedro Nelson (Buzo)
Pedro Nelson was part of the Héroes del 41, the Venezuelan national team that won the 1941 Amateur World Series. He had a brief pro career. In 1946, he was 0 for 4 for the Patriotas de Venezuela. In the winter of 1946-47, he was 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA in two games for the Navegantes del Magallanes, walking 11 in 15 1/3 IP but allowing only nine hits. At the plate, he was 3 for 10 with 3 runs. In 1947-1948, he was 0 for 5 for the Patriotas. He was 0-1 with no earned runs in 2/3 IP for the 1948-1949 Patriotas and was 0 for 3 on offense. The 1941 team was inducted en masse to the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
