Biographical Information[edit]

Pedro Diaz pitched parts of 3 seasons in the minor leagues.

Diaz was 1-2 with a save and a 5.10 ERA in 18 games for the 2002 Casper Rockies. He split 2004 between the Erie SeaWolves (1-1, 4.42 in 4 G) and the Pennsylvania Road Warriors (1-3, Sv, 3.56). In '05, he pitched for the Lancaster Barnstormers, going 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 26 games.

Diaz pitched for the Puerto Rican national team in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, beating Taiwan in his lone decision. He allowed 4 runs in 4 1/3 IP over 3 games in the event, but only one of the runs was earned. He thus had Puerto Rico's second-lowest ERA after Orlando Roman.
