Biographical Information[edit]

Paul Reinisch found success as both a pitcher and infielder in the professional ranks. He was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 31st round of the 1990 amateur draft and spent a year in their system. In 15 relief appearances for the Bristol Tigers, Reinisch went 2-1 with a 1.52 ERA, striking out 26 batters in 23 2/3 innings.

After not playing professionally from 1991 to 1993, he returned to baseball in the independent leagues in 1994, suiting up for the Marshall Mallards of the North Central League. He remained in the indy leagues through 1999, slashing .298/.384/.434 with 33 home runs and 243 RBI in 403 games. In 1996, with the Albany Diamond Dogs, Reinisch hit .360/.429/.550 with 10 home runs, 61 RBI and 108 hits in 78 games. He batted .300 or better twice more in his career.

Defensively versatile, he spent time at all four infield positions. He primarily played third base and first base.
