Marshall Mallards

From BR Bullpen

The Marshall Mallards were the only professional baseball team in the history of Marshall, MN. The club went 26-44 in its only season (1994), which was the worst record in the six-team North Central League, and drew fewer than 200 fans per game. The club and its absentee owner were actually in such financial straits, the league assumed control of them before the 1994 season ended, removed them from Marshall, and they finished the season by playing only on the road. The club resurfaced somewhat the next year as the Minot Mallards of Minot, ND in the independent Prairie League.

Many of the players had local ties to nearby high schools, Southwest Minnesota State University, or the amateur Marshall A's team. Terry McDaniel was the only player on the Mallards roster in 1994 who had previously played in the major leagues.
