Biographical Information[edit]
Paul Peñafiel was the youngest member of the Bolivian national team at the 2013 Bolivarian Games. The 15-year-old was 1 for 14 and fielded .737 with a team-high five errors as a 3B/2B. In the 2016 South American Championship, he had four errors in five games, again leading the team in miscues, but was one of their top hitters, going 3 for 11 with 3 walks, a double and a RBI. His 775 OPS in the round-robin phase led Bolivia, 25 ahead of Brian Sossa. He took the mound once, losing to Argentina (6 R, 5 H, 1 BB in 1/3 IP). He had the highest ERA in the event.
