Paul Samuel Fauks

Biographical Information[edit]

Paul Fauks played 3rd base, outfield and pitched for Oklahoma City University in 1947-1948. He was head of the St. Louis County American Legion operations in the late 1960s and into the 1970s. The St. Louis Cardinals promoted Fauks to assistant Public Relations Director in September 1969. In April 1971 he moved to the Director of Group Sales and in November 1971 to Director of Sales. By 1974 Fauks was the Cardinals' minor league scouting coordinator. By January 1975 he was minor league player director and scouting coordinator. In 1976 Fauks was back working in the Cardinals' ticket office, but in July was adding some of the responsibilities of the recently abolished position of assistant to player development director. In 1977 he was named assistant to the director of player development and scouting (apparently reviving the role). By 1981 Fauks was director of minor league operations, a position he held until retiring in June 1987.

He served in the United States' military during World War II, fighting in Normandy on D-Day. He later fought in the Korean War. He remained in active duty until 1968, when he retired and joined the Cardinals' promotions and sales department.
