Biographical Information[edit]
Paul Deese served as head coach at Chapman University from 1964 to 1970 and from 1982 to 1983, going 248-158-1. He led the team to a Division II College World Series title in 1968. He previously pitched in the minor leagues, going 11-19 with an ERA north of 5 from 1957 to 1959.
He went on to become head coach and general manager of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots of the Alaska Baseball League, as well as the President and CEO of the National Baseball Congress. In 1995, he managed the independent Sonoma County Crushers, also serving as the team's co-owner.
