Biographical Information[edit]
Paul Chervinko was in the majors for two seasons, catching 42 games with the Brooklyn Dodgers between 1937 and 1938. In 75 at bats, he hit .147. Paul also played in the minors for 13 seasons, and managed in the minors nine years. The Danville Dodgers team he managed in 1947 went 79-47 to win the league. One of his pitchers was Carl Erskine.
He played service ball with Clarence Beers while stationed at Kelly Field in Texas in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired after working 17 years for Olin-Mathieson Company at Covington, IN.
