Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Patrick Sandoval flirted with a no-hitter in a season when they had been plentiful, as on July 24, 2021, pitching for the Los Angeles Angels against the Minnesota Twins, he went 8 1/3 innings before giving up a double to Brent Rooker. He recorded another out before giving way to closer Raisel Iglesias, who allowed Rooker to score but got the final out to preserve the 2-1 win. Sandoval also set a personal best with 13 strikeouts in the game.
