Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Patrick Ludwig began his professional career in 2012.

Prior to playing professionally, he spent four years at Yale University, where he posted ERAs of 7.07, 5.29 and 5.10 his first three campaigns, respectively. In his final year there, he posted a 2.73 ERA in nine starts. Following that solid season, the Pittsburgh Pirates took him in the 10th round of the 2012 amateur draft.

He split 2012 between the State College Spikes and West Virginia Power, going a combined 3-2 with a 1.47 ERA in 18 relief appearances. In 30 2/3 innings, he surrendered only four walks. With the Power and Bradenton Marauders in 2013, Ludwig went 8-2 with a 3.54 mark in 37 games (10 starts) and in 2014, he was 6-7 with a 4.50 ERA in 28 games (13 starts) between Bradenton and the Altoona Curve.
