Pär Axelsson has played for the Swedish national team.
Axelsson debuted in the Elitserien in 2010, hitting .306/.358/.367 as a utility man for his hometown Eskilstuna Hammers. He was the top hitter in the 2010 European Junior Championship Qualifiers at .643 and also led in hits (9, one ahead of Johan Klarberg), total bases (16) and runs (12). Moving to Gefle in 2011, he hit .292/.333/.356 and then produced at a .312/.326/.500 clip for them in 2012 but did not get enough playing time to finish among the slugging leaders. He then spent time with the Sundsvall Mosquitoes but without seeing action in the Elitserien.
He made his debut with the national team in the 2014 European Championship, going 0 for 12 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch, run and RBI while splitting first base with Swedish great Magnus Pilegård. He handled 22 chances error-free. In his first at-bat for the national team, he fanned against Italy's Yomel Rivera. He also played in Collegiate Baseball League Europe around this time. He resurfaced in the Elisterien with the 2017 Sölvesborg Firehawks.
