Osmel Cintra Valverde

Osmel Cintra has pitched for over a decade for the Santiago de Cuba Wasps.

Cintra provided excellent relief in the last game of the finals to give Santiago de Cuba the title in 2000-2001. In 2007-2008, he had a 9-3, 4.27 record. Through that season, his 11th, he was 84-53 with 25 saves and a 3.54 ERA. Cintra fell to 2-2 with a save, 7.54 ERA and .360 opponent average in 2008-2009.

The veteran right-hander rebounded to go 7-4 with a 2.80 ERA in 2009-2010 with only 22 walks in 106 innings. He was 6th in the Cuban Serie Nacional in ERA, between legendary Pedro Luis Lazo and Miguel A. González. He also tied for the lead with two shutouts, even with Maikel Folch, Richard Aguilera and Vladimir Baños.
