Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Oscar Major played in the minor leagues in Canada in 1917, 1923 and 1924 (and possibly 1922 [1]). Available records say he hit .251 with 4 home runs in 197 at-bats. He managed the Granby Red Sox of the Provincial League to begin 1951, but was replaced by co-managers Bud Kimball and Vernon Thoele partway through the year. Baseball-Reference.com also lists him as manager of the St. Jean Braves of the Quebec Provincial League in 1947.
