Biographical Information[edit]
Oscar Álvarez was on the Dominican national team in the 1944 Amateur World Series and 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games, winning Silver as an outfielder in the latter event. He once hit four home runs in a game in the Dominican Republic. He became a doctor, specializing in ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. He entered the Dominican military as a medical provider and reached the rank of General. He was president of the Dominican Society of Ophthalmology.
